Educational Philosophy

At Summit Christian Academy, we believe the goal of Christian education is to equip students to be life-long learners and life-ready leaders, who seek to glorify Christ by spreading the gospel boldly as they move into the world beyond the walls of the school.

Academic Excellence

Academic excellence should be vigorously pursued, while at the same time building Christ-like character, confidence to share their faith, and a servant's heart.  Students should have dedicated, strong Christian teachers with high expectations for student achievement and a heart to help all students reach their God-given potential. Faculty should set an excellent example before students and require respect from them while discipling students daily.

Christian Worldview

A Christian worldview must be foremost in the curriculum, the conversations in the classroom, the play on the field, and the school's atmosphere. Academically rigorous instruction is necessary, but cannot stand alone. It must also include character building and discipleship in Christ.

World Changers

At SCA, each student will sponsor a child through Compassion International as part of their curriculum.  Tuition will cover the cost, and the student will correspond with their child for the entire time they are a student at SCA. You can learn more about Compassion International at:www.compassion.com

Christ-Centered Curriculum

SCA will be using Bob Jones University Press curriculum because it is academically rigorous and has a Christian worldview.  The curriculum also promotes critical thinking, which is necessary for all students and has appropriate technology use.
